General Rules
DESCRIPTION
All Stars is a handicap style eliminator based on class indexes. This eliminator
is dedicated
to passenger cars of the 60's that were produced in America with straight line
performance
being the primary reason for their existence. Certain exceptions in the
authenticity of these
cars will be allowed. Among those exceptions, but not limited to, are factors
concerning
safety, equality in performance, availability, and durability. Classification
will be based on a
visual inspection and the elapsed time the car is capable of running.
Qualifying Information, Ladder
Type, & Tree
All Run, NHRA Sportsman Ladder, .400 Full Tree, Handicap Start.
Drivers will qualify Based in ET. Closest to but not under the index you choose
to run. In the event of a tie we go to reaction time. If there is still a tie,
coin toss.
CLASS INDEX
8.00 - 12.00 in tenth second (0.10) intervals.
All must run 12.00 or faster.

REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS
GRAPHICS / DECALS
REQUIRED
Some period style graphics.
ALL STAR DRAG RACING SERIES decals
must be posted on the quarter windows of both sides.
OPTIONAL
Graphics (for advertising or creative purposes) permitted on entire body.
Contingency stickers, other decals and sponsorship (non-contingency)
may be displayed anywhere on body in a clear and organized fashion.
BODY
Alterations or customizing prohibited. Aftermarket fiberglass or other
lightweight
body panel components are limited to the hood, hood scoop, front inner and
outer fenders, doors, deck lid, and bumpers.
FENDER SPASH PANS
Full inner fender splash pans are required. May be trimmed for
header clearance. Aftermarket units allowed.
FIREWALL
Firewall must be original and in stock location. Firewall may be relocated in
A/FX.
HOOD/SCOOP
Hood is required in all classes except A/FX. May be made of lightweight
material.
Hood scoops are allowed but are limited to original equipment type or period
style.
May not exceed a total of 5 inches above the hood surface.
INTERIOR
Full upholstered and carpeted interior must be retained. Upholstered
aftermarket front
seats permitted. Rear seat may be removed when roll bar/cage is installed but
area must
be upholstered or carpeted leaving no bare panels if seat is removed. Full
dashboard
must remain with aftermarket gauges allowed. A/FX is allowed to remove full
interior.
WHEELTUBS
In order to clear legal tires, wheel tubs are acceptable but wheels and tires
must be positioned at outer extremities of tub.
WINDOWS
OEM safety glass or Lexan permitted. Windows need not be operative.
BRACKET RACING AIDS
Bracket racing aids such as optical sensors, delay boxes, stutter boxes, and
throttle stops are
not allowed. The application or use of any device, mechanical or
electronic, that permit the
driver to ascertain the position of their vehicle in relation to the starting
line is prohibited.
BRAKES
Operational brakes required on all four wheels. Line-loc is allowed.
Automated brakes or any type of traction control is prohibited.
CHASSIS/SUSPENSION
CHASSIS
Stock chassis is required. Rear frame may be moved in for rear tire and wheel
tub clearance. A/FX: Period style chassis alterations allowed.
FRONT SUSPENSION
Must retain complete stock front suspension as produced by manufacturer for
body used.
Aftermarket direct fit replacement suspension components including A-arms are
allowed.
Sway bars may be removed. Travel limiters allowed. A/FX: Period style units are
allowed.
REAR SUSPENSION N/SS & A/FX
May be aftermarket 4 link, ladder bar, or modified
stock suspension. Wheelie bars are permitted.
COOLING SYSTEM
An OEM production-style or aftermarket full-size radiator is required and
must be mounted in stock location.
DRIVETRAIN
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Any OEM automatic transmission with torque converter is allowed.
Transbrake is not allowed. Electric, hydraulic or pneumatic
shifter
devices prohibited.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION
Aftermarket 4-spd transmission and manual shifter allowed. Clutch may not
be
engaged or released by any means other than movement of the driver’s foot in a
normal
fashion through mechanical linkage or hydraulic slave cylinder. Two step units
allowed.
Electric, hydraulic or pneumatic shifter devices prohibited.
REAREND
Any automotive type allowed.
ELECTRICAL
The battery may be relocated. Electric fans and water pump drive allowed.
Charging system not required.
ENGINE
Must be same year, make and family as body. There is no displacement limit.
Any internal engine modifications are allowed.
BLOCK
Cast iron or aluminum aftermarket blocks allowed but must retain external
appearance of engine originally available in year/make/model of vehicle.
HEADS
Aftermarket heads are allowed, but must retain original external overall
appearance
for engine family. Any internal modifications are allowed.
OILING SYSTEM
Any wet sump oiling system is allowed.
VALVE TRAIN
Any valve train may be used.
EXHAUST
Open headers allowed.
IGNITION
Ignition system is unrestricted.
FUEL/FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM
DELIVERY SYSTEM
Fuel cells, electric fuel pumps, pressure regulators, and any line size
is permitted, but the fuel pump must shut off with a master electrical switch.
FUEL
N/SS - Only gasoline is allowed.
A/FX - Either gasoline or alcohol is allowed.
CARBURETOR INDUCTION
All entries limited to specific type and design carburetor(s) as listed
below for engine family used. All four barrel carburetors used on single and
multiple setups
limited to factory rated 850cfm maximum size (no Dominators). All two barrel
carburetors
limited to factory rated 500cfm maximum size. All carburetors must retain stock
overall
appearance. (Edelbrock may replace Carter AFB's,
Holley HP may replace Holley, Edelbrock
quadrajet replacements may replace Rochester) Only
air horn may protrude above the flat
surface of the hood into the area of the scoop. Holley 2x4 setups may be
mounted sideways.
Carburetor setups are limited to
the following:
AMC 390 - cross ram, 2x4 Holley
Buick 400-455 - single AFB or Q-Jet, inline 2x4 AFB
Chevy 396-409 - inline 2x4 AFB or inline 3x2 Rochester
Chevy 396-454 - 1x4 Q-Jet or Holley, inline 2x4 AFB, inline 3x2 Holley
Chrysler Wedge 413-426 - inline or cross ram 2x4 AFB, 65-69 single AFB
Chrysler Hemi 426 - inline 2x4 AFB, cross ram 2x4 AFB or Holley
Ford 406-427 – 1x4, inline 2x4 Holley, inline 3x2 Holley
Ford 428 Cobra Jet - single Holley
Olds 400-455 - 1x4 Q-Jet, inline 3x2 Rochester
Pontiac 389-455 - inline 2x4 AFB, inline 3x2 Rochester
A/FX: Entries are allowed
listed carburetors for N/SS, Holley(s) with
850 CFM maximum rating (no Dominators), or mechanical fuel
injection.
INTAKE MANIFOLDS
No aftermarket sheet metal or fabricated intake manifolds allowed.
Manifolds are restricted to commercially available cast units. Upper half of 2x4
and 3x2
manifolds may be modified and fabricated as necessary to allow installation of
carburetors.
Single four barrel manifolds are restricted to cast commercially available 180
degree dual
plane intake with no external modifications allowed.
A/FX: Any manifold list
above allowed.
FUEL INJECTION
**A/FX ONLY**
Fuel injected A/FX entries may use any commercially
available period correct mechanical port fuel injection unit.
ONBOARD DIAGNOSTICS/DATA RECORDERS
Onboard diagnostic computers and data recorders are not allowed. Memory and
playback
tachometers are acceptable. Autometer Dual Channel
Ultimate II tachometers are acceptable.
STEERING
Stock steering required. A/FX may use any conventional steering system.
TIRES
Rear tires may either be DOT-approved and labeled or labeled for racing slicks.
DOT tires are
limited to maximum designated sidewall width of 13.50. Slicks are limited to a
maximum sidewall
designation of 14.00 x 32 x 15 inches. The front tires are limited to 4.5-inch
minimum tread width.
The tread of tires must not protrude outside of the exterior of bodyline at top
of tires.
WHEELBASE/WHEELS
WHEELBASE
Must retain stock wheelbase and stock overhang with a maximum variation
from left to right and front to back of 1 inch. Altered wheelbase allowed in
A/FX.
WHEELS
Aftermarket wheels are permitted.
A minimum width of 3.5 inches is required on the front rims
